Hubs and I had the pleasure of attending a Broadway show this afternoon. I had known for quite some time I had wanted to see this show, but like most ideas I have these days, they go in and out of my brain in one fleeting moment. Before you know it, I’m heading to the laundry room with a gallon of milk in my hand.

Luckily, I remembered last weekend that this show was only going to be in town for two weeks and it started this weekend. There were still tickets available and we decided on the spot to order our tickets.

We had been in the bay area for most of our weekend visiting hubs’ brother and family. We got back by noon today and met my mom who was going to watch the boys for us while we were out. (Triple Score!) Within the hour, we were sitting second row, dead center, watching amazing, young actors impress the hell out of us for 3 action packed hours.

Now, for those of you who do not know anything about Spring Awakening, this Broadway musical is a sight to see. REALLY! We got to see the main gal’s boob, TWICE, and see another guy (fake) masturbate. While it may sound quite provocative, it was HILARIOUS and smartly written. The music is modern day rock, but the story line takes place in the late 1890’s in Germany. The play was actually written back in the 1890’s. It was seen as quite scandalous for its time. It even won the Tony for Best Musical in 2007.

If you ever get a chance to see this show, I’d say DO IT. It’s relatable, inspiring and a great getaway from the every day.
